St. John's School age Program is licensed under the Ontario Day Nurseries Act and provides care for children from junior kindergarten age through to 12 years of age for before and after school throughout the school year. It is located in St. John’s Elementary School on Wilson Street in Perth and is open to the general public. We have access to the schools library and gym as well as the class room we are situated in. Care for full days on the Christmas break, March break and professional development days, as well as a summer day camp for children 6 - 12 years is provided at our Taycare Senior Centre at 100 Wilson St.

Ratios

The staff to child ratio with our school age children is 1-15.

Snacks

The St. John's program provides nutritious snacks for the afterschool program that meet with the Canada Food Guide recommendations.

Indoors

The children are kept busy with such activities as art, board games, supervised computer games, books, drama and construction toys.

Outdoors

The children are supervised at all times and have the use of the basketball nets and a large portion of the playground.

Fees

Fees are set each year by the Board of directors. Fee subsidies are available to all a parents who qualify under a provincially regulated income test. The Fee subsidy applications are administered by the County of Lanark and they can be contacted at (613) 267-4200, ext 2304 or email ss@county.lanark.on.ca.

Before applying for a subsidy, parents must find a licensed child care that best fits their needs. Eligibility is determined based on guidelines established by the Ministry of Children and Youth Services.
