Temporary Full-Time – 80 hours bi-weekly
Head Educator – Stewart School – 47.5 hours biweekly
Educator – Junior or Wilson Centre – 32.5 hours biweekly
The split of hours may vary.
As Head Educator you will be responsible for the day to day supervision of staff and children in the Before and After School Program. You will be responsible for communicating with the principal and teachers in the school in which your program is located, in a professional and cooperative manner. As part of a child care team, you will assist staff in providing a daily program for the children in a safe, secure environment in accordance with the goals and curriculum plans of the program and the Child Care and Early Years Act. Fulfill all the obligations and responsibilities as outlined in the job description. The hours of work will be determined by enrolment and operational requirements and are subject to change. At Junior and Wilson Centres you will be responsible for following through on classroom routines and duties.
Required Qualifications:
- RECE;
- Member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators;
- At least 2 years’ experience in a licensed childcare setting;
- Have current Standard First Aid and CPR.
- Have a current Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check
- The successful applicant must receive director approval from the Ministry of Education.
Pay Rate: as per Collective Agreement CUPE Local 4474
This position is expected to begin on or about July 2, 2025 and is expected to end on or about December 28, 2026, with the possibility of an early end date or extension.
